Compressing the Schedule on an FCC Overhaul

Three ways we compressed the schedule duration on the overhaul of an FCC (fluidised catalytic cracking) unit.

The FCC unit at a refinery in North India had a major overhaul recently, and we reduced the schedule to the fullest. The scope also included the coke and catalyst removal from the huge reactor and regenerator. How did we do it?

  1. Meticulous planning – Our wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of FCC’s ensured maximum productivity. With our disciplined, multi-phase approach, we got the unit back up and running quickly, safely and at optimal performance, despite encountering numerous challenges including inclement weather and high catalyst temperature.
  2. Multi-skilled, highly trained workforce – With our elite multi-skilled and effective workforce, we ensured optimal safety, quality and schedule efficiency.
  3. Latest equipment, tools and systems – By deploying additional modern equipment and technology including CO2 blasting systems (a modern, non-abrasive cleaning technique to remove the coked catalyst layers), we met the demands of the job.

We are grateful for a highly professional team who got the unit back up and running as quickly as possible.
