We are delighted to be recognised by the largest oil refinery in Thailand for safely completing a Molex unloading well ahead of schedule. The client praised our team for our professionalism and excellent performance during a site safety walk with management and other stakeholders.
Impacts of COVID-19 are changing the way we work, however, we are proud of our experienced engineers and planners for supporting our client and facilitating the detailed planning phase via video conferencing.
Despite extensive efforts to facilitate the vendor’s foreign expert advisors being on site to witness the unloading and reloading activities, COVID-19 restrictions delayed their arrival. Once again, we arranged extensive online meetings to align the vendor, client and CR Asia, ensuring the unloading could proceed as planned regardless of the vendor’s advisors being present.
Our highly experienced and professional team worked closely with the client to unload the vessel, while the vendor’s advisors were still undergoing their (COVID-19) quarantine period. CR Asia’s QAQC (quality assurance and quality control) team proceeded to document and compile all of the checklists and procedures required by the vendor for the unloading phase.
Our team reduced the proposed schedule and completed the unloading phase ahead of plan and prior to the vendor’s advisors completing their quarantine period. They could not be on site to execute some extremely critical steps or witness and sign off documentation before moving forward with the next phase of the project. After discussions between all stakeholders, we proceeded in conducting a preliminary test to identify any potential defects and carry out repairs accordingly, followed by completing the final test for the advisors to witness upon being released from quarantine. This further expedited the original schedule and became a significant contribution to the huge success of this project.
Being monsoon season, we prepared baskets with covers which ensured that if we encountered rainstorms, the grid installation could continue. Additionally, the use of the UN approved bins for loading ensured that we could lift adsorbent to the top platform for loading during inclement weather resulting in zero time lost due to weather.
CR Asia provided two large air-conditioned tents for the inspection area, which enabled us to store all of the adsorbent and vessel internal parts, avoiding any chance of adsorbent damage due to moisture ingress. We also ulitlised CR Asia’s hydraulic 4-drum tipper inside the inspection area to transfer the adsorbent into bins. This award-winning innovation reduced manual handling of the drums and avoided any chance of water getting in contact with the adsorbent. It also contributed significantly to the success of the project eliminating the need to stop work during rainy weather.
We completed the job safely, successfully and well ahead of the planned schedule.
